Within the framework of the academic discipline Global Atmospheric Monitoring, a seminar entitled “Ways to Reduce the Carbon Footprint” was held for first-year master’s students of the Meteorology educational program. The event became part of initiatives aimed at transitioning the university toward a low-carbon development model.
During the seminar, participants examined key aspects of the concept of carbon neutrality and discussed possible practical measures to reduce the carbon footprint of university activities. Particular attention was paid to the role of educational and research institutions in shaping sustainable approaches to climate risk management.
The seminar was conducted by Acting Assistant of Professor of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, E.P. Kozhakhmetova. According to the organizers, such events contribute to integrating the climate agenda into the educational process and to developing a systemic understanding of contemporary environmental challenges among future specialists.
The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 13 — Climate Action — and is regarded as a practical contribution of the academic community to addressing global climate challenges.
