SDG 4. “The main value is the human being”
We live in a society that adheres to the principle “The main value is the human being.” This is one of the fundamental principles enshrined in our Constitution. According to the Basic Law, the highest value of the state is the individual, his or her life, rights, and freedoms. Guided by this principle, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has introduced a number of internal disciplinary and ethical norms and ensures their strict observance.
The university maintains a high level of labor discipline, professional ethics, and general culture of behavior. From the top administration to first-year students, everyone adheres to democratic principles, legal norms, and moral values in the process of study and work. In this regard, the university enforces several important regulatory documents such as the "Corporate Ethics Code of KazNU Faculty and Staff," the "KazNU Student Honor Code," the "Regulations on the Ethics Council," the "Academic Policy," and the "Academic Integrity Policy."
As part of the preparation for the winter examination session, explanatory activities were conducted for the students of the Pre-University Education Faculty to familiarize them with exam regulations, improve the quality of their knowledge, and promote academic honesty. During the curator’s session, the students—including representatives of the Kazakh diaspora from abroad—were thoroughly acquainted with KazNU’s academic policy and the requirements it sets. Special attention was paid to the evaluation of academic achievements and proper preparation for the examination period.
Additionally, within the framework of the "Integrity Alley" project, preventive work on explaining anti-corruption norms was carried out, highlighting the following points:
2.16.27. The duration of examination sessions and the number of exams are determined based on the approved curriculum and academic calendar;
2.16.28. Students are required to take all exams strictly in accordance with the curriculum;
2.16.29. The procedure for conducting the examination session is regulated by a special Regulation;
2.16.30. All students of the university have been informed of the Regulation on final assessment (examination session), as well as the rules of academic integrity that define student conduct requirements during final assessments.
The work carried out contributed to enhancing the students’ legal awareness and strengthening their commitment to the principles of academic integrity.
