World Philosophy Day: Al-Farabi KazNU Discusses the Future of Humanity and Artificial Intelligence Issues
A significant event was organized at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education. On November 23, 2025, in honor of World Philosophy Day, an exchange of views titled "The Future of Humanity — The Future of Philosophy" was held under the leadership of Kanat Toktarbekuly Nurgaliyev, bringing together students and faculty members.
The primary objective of the event was to rethink the role of philosophy in the era of artificial intelligence and global digitalization, while also enhancing the spiritual and legal culture of students. In a discussion led by Kanat Toktarbekuly Nurgaliyev, second-year philosophy students and faculty members addressed the most pressing issues of modern times. It was specifically noted that as engineering and technology continue to advance rapidly, the importance of philosophical reflection on human life becomes increasingly vital.
During the meeting, participants analyzed the impact of automation processes on human life and discussed the relationship between scientific and technological progress and fundamental moral values such as conscience and justice. Furthermore, special attention was paid to the importance of developing critical thinking and self-reflection skills to foster social harmony.
This initiative is of strategic importance not only for the university's academic life but also for strengthening its position in international rankings, including the THE Impact Rankings. Such events, organized under professional guidance, contribute to increasing the civic responsibility of students and demonstrate the university's potential in training highly competitive specialists.
