Values raised at the national kurultai
I believe that the issues raised by the Head of State at the 5th National Kurultai in Kyzylorda have become the basis for a profound philosophical reflection on national identity. The President’s vision of bringing spiritual and cultural heritage into the global civilizational space is a clear manifestation not only of cultural policy but also of the modernization of historical consciousness and a new level of understanding national memory.
The inclusion of the "Khandar Shezhirezi" (Chronicles of the Khans) manuscript in the UNESCO "Memory of the World" register is a significant step that recognizes the value of the written traditions and historical continuity of Kazakh statehood for human civilization. Furthermore, the proposal to nominate the underground mosques of Mangystau for the World Heritage list is an initiative of great symbolic importance, showcasing the unique spiritual architecture of Turkic-Islamic civilization in the steppe to the world.
From a philosophical perspective, these processes urge us to view national culture not merely as a monument of the past, but as a living value that defines the spiritual orientation of current and future generations. The systematic registration and promotion of intangible heritage is a crucial mechanism for preserving the historical memory and spiritual experience of the people in the context of globalization. As the President noted, moving beyond this, the deep study of our native history and elevating art and culture to a new qualitative level is a long-term strategic task that strengthens the nation's spiritual sovereignty. In this regard, the National Kurultai is becoming an essential spiritual platform that unites public consciousness and bridges the past and the present, tradition and innovation.
