Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is launching the first international scientific journal in Central Asia dedicated to digital psychology and mental health — Digital Psychology and Mental Health Technologies.

26 january, 2026
The journal is devoted to the systematic study of the impact of the digital environment and artificial intelligence on human thinking, behavior, and psychological well-being. Today, algorithmically driven platforms and AI technologies have become key factors in socialization, education, and professional activity, making their psychological effects a subject of heightened scientific and public attention.

The project is directly aligned with the priorities of the state policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the Address of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, digital transformation and the implementation of artificial intelligence are identified as strategic directions for the country’s development, requiring interdisciplinary scientific support, including contributions from psychological science.

The journal will serve as an international academic platform for publications on the following topics:
psychological aspects of AI in work and everyday life, human–AI interaction, and the consequences of manipulative influences on mass behavior;
behavior in digital environments, including the impact of interfaces, personalization, and media platforms on consciousness, emotions, digital addiction, and digital burnout;
psychology of digital development, including the use of AI to support learning progress, metacognition, and career guidance;
digital diagnostics, development and adaptation of valid assessment tools for digital platforms to ensure reliable prediction of states and risks at the individual and group levels;
the use of neuro-measurements and brain–computer interfaces for the study and correction of mental processes.

The journal is established in accordance with international standards of academic quality and publication ethics, with open access and a multilingual publication model.

Target audience: researchers and faculty members, doctoral and master’s students, professionals in education, healthcare, and digitalization, as well as international research centers and professional communities working at the intersection of psychology, technology, and mental health.

We invite you and your colleagues (including international partners) to collaborate by preparing and submitting original research articles for publication in Issues 1–4 of 2026.
