From January 26 to 31, 2026, students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in an international educational program organized by Jeju University (Republic of Korea), held in the city of Jeju.

The program also brought together students and senior high school pupils from the Republic of Uzbekistan, contributing to the development of international academic cooperation and intercultural exchange.

Within the framework of the program, Jeju University provided financial support to the participants by fully covering accommodation and meal expenses. Students were responsible only for the cost of their airfare.

The educational program combined both academic and cultural components. Students visited key attractions of Jeju Island, became acquainted with the region’s unique natural environment, admired picturesque coastal landscapes, and explored the island’s rich marine life by visiting one of the largest oceanariums in the Republic of Korea — Aqua Planet Jeju.

Special emphasis was placed on the development of teamwork, communication skills, and the practical application of modern technologies. At the beginning of the program, participants were divided into teams and assigned to prepare a final project dedicated to one of Jeju Island’s landmarks. In line with the program’s theme focused on the use of artificial intelligence, students were required to create video content and presentations using AI tools. Throughout the program, participants produced creative videos and reels, integrating technology, research, and creativity.

The team projects focused on the unique features of Jeju’s volcanic stones, Hallasan Mountain—the highest peak in the Republic of Korea—as well as the sea and the culture of haenyeo, female divers who represent an integral part of Korea’s cultural heritage.

On the final day of the program, teams presented their projects, after which participants were awarded prizes and certificates. The program became a valuable educational experience for Al-Farabi KazNU students, fostering the development of digital and communication competencies and strengthening international cooperation in the field of education.
