Within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 – “Quality Education”, a preventive meeting titled “Law and Order” was held at the House of Culture in the city of Konaev, organized by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Almaty Region.
The event aimed to prevent juvenile and youth delinquency, enhance legal awareness, promote a culture of compliance with legal requirements, and strengthen the rule of law. The meeting brought together representatives of the прокуратура authorities, law enforcement officers, as well as students and faculty members of the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In particular, students of the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Forensics of the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi KazNU took part in the event.
During the meeting, key issues related to legal education and prevention were discussed. Participants received explanations regarding the most common administrative and criminal offences committed by young people, their legal consequences, as well as the liability arising from non-compliance with legal norms. The application of legal provisions and their relevance in everyday life were illustrated through practical examples.
In addition, information was provided on citizens’ rights and obligations, the principles of accountability before the law, and the social importance of maintaining public order. Special attention was paid to the role of preventive measures and ways to improve their effectiveness.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for direct dialogue: participants were able to ask questions to representatives of law enforcement bodies. Law students raised questions concerning law enforcement practice, the organization of preventive work, and aspects of their future professional careers in the legal field. The responses contributed to strengthening students’ professional training and linking academic knowledge with practical experience.
Furthermore, informational and preventive brochures were distributed to participants. These materials included information on drug prevention, the harmful effects of narcotic substances on health, psychological well-being, and the social environment, as well as legal liability for drug-related offences under the national legislation. The brochures were aimed at raising young people’s awareness of social risks and preventing unlawful behavior.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of continuing systematic legal awareness and preventive work among young people. The “Law and Order” meeting became one of the planned activities aimed at improving youth legal literacy, strengthening the rule of law, and promoting responsible citizenship.
