The issues of increasing legal culture are considered
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a round table on "Constitutional reform: a new stage in strengthening statehood", dedicated to topical issues of the country's political and legal modernization.
The round table was attended by scientists, teachers, industry experts, young researchers and students of the Journalism Faculty.

Opening the discussion, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism Kanat Auesbay stressed that the constitutional reforms carried out in the country are aimed at improving the effectiveness of public administration, strengthening democratic institutions and developing trust between society and government.

Almas Sakbayev, Senior Lecturer at the UNESCO Department of Journalism and Communication, Imanbai Zhubai, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Print and Electronic Media, Bekzhan Ashirbayev, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Print and Electronic Media, and other speakers also made informative presentations.

In their speeches, the participants noted the key role of the mass media in explaining the essence of constitutional reforms, shaping public opinion and enhancing the legal culture of citizens. It was emphasized that journalism bears a special responsibility for objective, balanced and professional coverage of the processes of political and legal modernization of the country.

Special attention during the round table was paid to the principle of the rule of law. Artyom Aslanyan, Senior Lecturer at the UNESCO Department of Journalism and Communication, made an analytical presentation on this topic. He noted that the rule of law presupposes the equality of all before the law, the independence of the judicial system, as well as the priority of human rights and freedoms in the public administration system.

The Speaker stressed that despite the Republic of Kazakhstan's lack of membership in the Council of Europe, the country actively participates in international events and initiatives implemented under the auspices of this organization. According to him, this indicates Kazakhstan's desire to follow international legal standards and strengthen the national legal culture. The Council of Europe's activities are based on three key principles: the protection of human rights, the rule of law, and the development of democracy.
Following the results of the round table, the participants expressed their opinions on topical issues of constitutional reform.
