City History as a Language of Communication

9 february, 2026

On February 6, 2026, within the framework of achieving the goals of SDG 4 (Quality Education), the students of groups PG-16, PG-17 and PG-18 of the Department of Language and General Education Training for Foreign Students visited the Almaty Museum as part of an event organized by the curators-consultants R. Duisenbayeva, G. A. Mashinbayeva and M. Yeshimov.

The purpose of the event was to introduce foreign students studying languages to the history and cultural centers of the city in which they are studying. The students were presented with comprehensive information about the life of Almaty, from the period of the Verny Fortress to the years when the city served as the capital of the country, as well as its modern history. They were also provided with detailed information about the country’s cultural centers and the lives of prominent figures, as well as their role in the history of our country.

Supplementing classroom language instruction with visits to cultural sites has a positive impact on the quality of learning. During the museum visit, foreign students asked various questions, exchanged opinions, and were able to engage in authentic language communication.
