Within the framework of the round table titled "Ways to Prevent Financial Fraud," held at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, participants discussed critical issues of personal and national financial security. The event was attended by faculty members of the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics, graduate students, and 3rd-year students of the "Standardization and Certification" program. The session began with a presentation by 3rd-year student Kairash Zhansaya, who highlighted that financial fraud is a widespread global crime involving the illegal acquisition of bank data and personal information.

During the discussion, various types of fraud, their consequences, and preventive measures were examined. Students of the "Standardization and Certification" major, divided into groups, presented specially prepared slides and engaged in a debate. The speakers emphasized that protecting personal data is a vital part of financial security and noted that combating such crimes is a priority of Kazakhstan’s state policy. The ultimate goal of the round table was to improve the financial literacy of the younger generation and help them understand their rights and responsibilities.

🌍 Alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 4 (Quality Education): By fostering financial literacy and critical thinking, the event ensures that students acquire the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complex modern financial landscape.

  • SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions): Raising awareness about fraud prevention supports the development of a transparent society and reduces the impact of economic crimes, aligning with the goal of promoting the rule of law.
