An Open Class Was Held at the Department of Chinese Studies as Part of a Doctoral Teaching Internship
On February 18, 2026, an open class was conducted at the Department of Chinese Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies within the framework of the teaching internship of first-year doctoral student Ershat Ardak from the Educational Program “Translation Studies.”
The class was delivered to first-year students of the 2+2 Educational Program “Foreign Philology” in the course “Chinese Language (Chuji Shang).” The learning process was organized in an interactive format: students carried out a comprehensive analysis of the instructional texts, thoroughly studied new lexical units, and completed a series of grammar exercises aimed at developing their linguistic competence.
To enhance the effectiveness of learning, a multimedia presentation was prepared, and elements of group work and game-based learning methods were incorporated, fostering active student engagement in the educational process.
The open class was attended by the Deputy Dean for Research, the Head of the Department of Chinese Studies, and faculty members. Following the discussion, the class received a positive evaluation in terms of methodological preparation, organization of the learning process, and the application of modern educational technologies.
The open class became an important stage in the development of the doctoral student’s pedagogical competencies and in the further implementation of innovative methods of teaching Chinese.
