The event took place on March 3 at 2:00 PM at the Kazakhstan–China Center and was held in an open dialogue format. The primary objective of the lecture was to highlight the role of women in science and society, to present a model of leadership and professional achievement for the younger generation, and to promote a culture of gender equality and mutual respect within the academic community.

The honored guest of the meeting was Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor Gulnara Nussupova. A distinguished scholar who has made a significant contribution to the development of national geographical science, she shared her professional experience and reflections on leadership, academic responsibility, and the mission of a university educator.

During the lecture, key topics included women’s leadership in science, opportunities and challenges within academia, and pathways for professional and personal growth. The speaker emphasized that success is built upon consistent effort, perseverance, dedication to one’s goals, and genuine commitment to research. Particular attention was given to the importance of engaging actively in the international scientific community and fostering research initiative.

The interactive session provided participants with the opportunity to raise questions and engage in meaningful discussion on current academic challenges. The open dialogue format strengthened professional exchange and contributed to the development of an effective academic communication culture.

The event aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 “Gender Equality” and SDG 4 “Quality Education.” The lecture underscored the principles of equal opportunities in science and the importance of continuous professional development as a foundation for sustainable academic progress.

The meeting held particular significance for the faculty’s young academic staff. In the context of higher education modernization, early-career academics face strategic challenges, including increasing research productivity, participating in scientific projects, expanding international collaboration, and shaping their own research trajectories. The discussions on leadership, professional responsibility, and scholarly initiative provided valuable guidance for their continued development.

Professor Nussupova’s professional journey stands as an example of consistent academic growth, the establishment of a scientific school, and the successful integration of research and teaching. For young faculty members, her experience served as a source of motivation and a clear demonstration that academic success is achieved through systematic work, strategic vision, and dedication to one’s field.

Overall, the leadership lecture became a meaningful event in the academic life of the faculty, contributing to the strengthening of research capacity and intergenerational continuity. For young academics in particular, the meeting provided a strong impetus for further professional and personal advancement.
