Dear colleagues!

You are cordially invited to participate in THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE, “AL-FARABI AND GLOBALIZATION: THE UNITY OF SCIENCE, SPIRIT AND PHILOSOPHY”, to be held within the framework of the V INTERNATIONAL FARABI FORUM, hosted by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, on April 9–11, 2026.

Throughout the history of world science and culture, especially in the context of Eastern civilization, Central Asia, and Kazakh culture, the great thinker and encyclopedic philosopher Abu Nasr Muhammad ibn Muhammad ibn Tarkhan ibn Uzlag al-Farabi al-Turki (870–950) occupies a position of enduring significance.

The primary aim of the International Farabi Forum is to consider the historical, philosophical, and spiritual frameworks that shape today’s society through the scientific and spiritual legacy of Abu Nasr al-Farabi; to strengthen scholarly connections between domestic and international researchers studying his works; and to create a new space for scientific dialogue and partnerships among world-class scholars.

In-depth discussions on the interplay between science and education, the cultivation of spiritual and moral values in contemporary society, and the development of personal identity are to be featured at the Forum. Key directions in the study of Abu Nasr al-Farabi’s legacy and modern Farabian scholarship, the concept of the virtuous person in the works of Turkic thinkers, and major issues in the social and humanitarian sciences are to be explored during the sessions. In addition, a comprehensive examination of Al-Farabi’s philosophy alongside the spiritual heritage of the Kazakh people is to be conducted, highlighting diverse perspectives and discourses on the understanding of spirituality.
