Workshop “Women in Science” Held at the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence
On March 5, 2026, on the eve of International Women’s Day, a workshop titled “Women in Science” was held at the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event aimed to highlight the role of women in science and technology, promote their contributions to research and innovation, and encourage young researchers and students to pursue academic and professional careers in scientific fields.
The workshop was organized by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, headed by Madina Mansurova. The event served as an important platform for academic dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the discussion of modern scientific trends in artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
The workshop opened with welcoming remarks by Nurbol Beisov, Deputy Dean for Research, Innovation and International Relations of the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence. In his speech, he emphasized the increasing importance of women’s participation in scientific research and innovation. He highlighted that women researchers today make significant contributions to the advancement of artificial intelligence, data science, medicine, engineering, and other interdisciplinary scientific domains.

The presentations covered a wide range of topics including artificial intelligence, data analytics, neuroscience, digital innovations, and interdisciplinary research. The speakers also discussed opportunities for international academic cooperation and emphasized the importance of supporting women in scientific careers.
The workshop brought together undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, faculty members, and young researchers interested in the development of modern technologies and scientific innovation. Participants actively engaged in discussions with the speakers, exchanged ideas, and explored new perspectives for future research collaboration.
