Seminar on the Implementation of Microqualification Programs
On March 5, 2026, a methodological seminar for academic staff was held at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The seminar was conducted by Tursunkul Amankeldievna Bazarbayeva, Candidate of Geographical Sciences and Professor, Head of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development.
The main purpose of the seminar was to discuss the development of modern approaches in higher education, including the enhancement of students’ professional competencies through the implementation of microqualification programs. This initiative is directly related to Sustainable Development Goal 4 — ensuring quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.

During the event, the essence of microqualification programs, their role in the higher education system, adaptation to labor market requirements, and ways of integrating them into educational programs were comprehensively discussed. In addition, issues of strengthening cooperation between the university and various organizations, as well as enhancing partnerships in education and science, were considered. These directions contribute to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 17 — strengthening partnerships for sustainable development.

Faculty members and researchers participated in the seminar and exchanged views on the development of microqualification programs, the assessment of learning outcomes, and effective ways of integrating them into the educational process. The participants had the opportunity to share experiences on modernizing the education system, strengthening cooperation between universities and partner organizations, and improving the quality of education.
As a result of the seminar, the importance of further improving educational programs, introducing international experience, and expanding activities aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals was emphasized.
