International Student Round Table Highlights Global Dialogue

26 march, 2026

on Good Health and Well-Being

On November 22, 2025, the Senior Lecturers of the Department of Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Philology successfully organized an international online student round table titled “Global Dialogue on Good Health and Well-Being.” The event was conducted entirely in English and aligned with the annual SDG action plan of the Department, contributing directly to the promotion of Sustainable Development Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-Being.

The round table assembled student participants from a number of higher education institutions representing Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and the United States. Among them were Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Yessenov University, the Nukus Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages, the Karakalpakstan State University, the University of Utah (Salt Lake City, Utah, the USA), and the Texas College of Communication. The broad geographical representation contributed to the scholarly value of the discourse and emphasized the global relevance of the issues discussed. The round table served as a dynamic platform for young scholars to exchange ideas, share research insights, and discuss one of the most pressing global challenges of our time – ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages. Throughout the session, students explored a wide range of issues related to public health, women’s health and well-being, healthy living for young people, climate and health, nutrition and food security as part of well-being, preventive care, mental well-being, lifestyle choices, healthcare accessibility, and global health disparities. At the end of the event, students led a discussion as well, expressing their ideas and opinions on three main questions: What are the main health challenges young people face today? How can we take care of our mental health in daily life? What can universities do to support students’ well-being? This rigorous dialogue strengthened intercultural   communication, enhanced students’ resarch competencies and fostered their deeper understanding of global health priorities.

In conclusion, we can say by fostering open dialogue and international cooperation, the event not only strengthened academic collaboration but also empowered students to take an active role in supporting the global sustainable development agenda. The successful organization of this international academic event underscores the Department of Foreign Languages’ commitment to advancing high-quality education, promoting research-informed discussions, and supporting the global sustainable development agenda within the university community.
