Renowned reproductologist Vyacheslav Lokshin gave a lecture at KazNU
An outstanding scientist, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Vyacheslav Lokshin delivered an open lecture at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The event on the topic "Modern possibilities of reproductive medicine" was opened by Margulan Ibraimov, Member of the Board, Vice–Rector for Research and Innovation. He emphasized the exceptional role of Vyacheslav Lokshin in the development of the Russian healthcare system and introduced him as the founder of new directions in medical science.

Academician V.Lokshin is the head of the Persona International Clinical Center for Reproductive Medicine and a member of the National Council for Science and Technology under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He is not only the author of more than 215 scientific papers and 7 patents, but also a personality who has formed a unique school of medical practitioners in Kazakhstan.
"Professor V.Lokshin stood at the origins of new directions in science – reproductive medicine and assisted reproductive technologies. He created a new field of medicine designed to preserve the reproductive potential of cancer patients – oncofertility, for which he was awarded the "Best Doctor in Russia" award",- said the vice–rector.

During the lecture, Vyacheslav Notanovich emphasized that today reproductive medicine has reached a fundamentally new level, allowing it to solve the most difficult tasks of demographic policy. The speaker emphasized the importance of the presidential program "Kazakh Sabi", under which the number of IVF quotas increased to 7,000 annually, 35,000 programs were conducted, 13,000 children were born.
"The program continues to work, and I wish it would never end. The number of quotas should only increase",- the speaker stressed. – According to WHO, today almost 200 million women in the world are deprived of the opportunity to have children of their own. And infertility in general affects every sixth marriage, which is 17.5 percent of the adult population of the planet".

Vyacheslav Lokshin considers the development of the field of oncofertility to be the humanistic mission of modern medicine. According to the scientist, the introduction of fundamental research into practical healthcare is not just about treating diseases, but also giving people hope for a fulfilling future.
At the end of the meeting, young scientists and students asked the academician topical questions and exchanged views on innovative trends in medicine. Vyacheslav Notanovich noted that success in the scientific field is only the result of continuous search and high responsibility, and gave his valuable parting words to his young colleagues.
