The Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alik Shpekbayev visited Al-Frabi KazNU, where he opened the School of Integrity. During the visit, he also got acquainted with the implementation of the «University 4.0» a new generation university model, the digitalization and anti-corruption experience of the country's leading University.
Talking about the model of the University of a new generation – «University 4.0», the Rector highlighted that it is implemented on the basis of the concept of «al-Farabi University Smart City» and it is based on a symbiosis of spiritual, moral and high-tech platforms. Last year, KazNU, as the UN Global Hub for Sustainable Development, presented this model at the UN headquarters in New York, where it was recommended for wide distribution at the international level. The mission of «University 4.0» is not only to train highly qualified specialists, but also to form virtuous citizens of the country and the world. KazNU implements this idea jointly with the UN Alliance of Civilizations through the international project «Formation of Citizens of a Virtuous Society. Mission of Modern Universities». In order to implement it, 12 scientific, educational and cultural centers of KazNU have been opened and are successfully operating in leading foreign universities.
The Head of the University also emphasized that an important component of the transformation of KazNU is the translation of all business processes into a digital format and the active introduction of advanced IT technologies. At the Center of Situational Management, which is equipped with modern equipment for the interactive collection and analysis of information, the guest was shown the digital capabilities of integrated management of all University activities. Of particular interest was the «Univer» electronic system, which was developed by KazNU’s experts that ensures transparency of all University activities, including the distribution of places in the dormitories, transfer to grants, etc. A. Shpekbayev also got acquainted with the work of the Business Competence cluster, which includes the centers of Islamic Finance; Entrepreneurship and Finance; Exchange Technologies; MBA and DBA. They work together with the National Bank, AIFC «Astana» and foreign partners, using the best international practices in the field of finance and exchange trading.
The School of Integrity - a methodological center for working with students and schoolchildren was opened at the Faculty of Law with the participation of the Chairman of the Agency. Currently, a special course on «Ethics of Integrity» is being taught at all Faculties of KazNU, more than 5 thousand students are involved in the work of the «Sanaly Urpaq» club. The guests were presented two projects of the Research Institute of «Anti-Corruption Technologies» of KazNU, aimed at promoting integrity among young people. One of them is the animated film «The Tale of a Virtuous City» for high school students, which is based on the philosophical treatises of Al-Farabi entitled «Views of the Inhabitants of the Virtuous City» and «Introduction to the Attainment of Happiness». As well as the Republican Student Online Competition that is conducted on the digital platform of KazNU on the knowledge of anti-corruption legislation and it is dedicated to the International Day against Corruption.
The Head of the Anti-Corruption Agency praised the University's work in introducing modern anti-corruption technologies, including through the formation of a digital environment and the provision of services in electronic format.
«Today, KazNU, as the flagship of higher education and science, makes a great contribution to the upbringing of the young generation, for which integrity, justice, honesty, legality, professionalism should become life guidelines. In this regard, the best practices of the University’s anti-corruption work should undoubtedly be adopted by other Universities of the country», - highlighted Alik Shpekbayev, Head of the Anti-Corruption Service.
At the end of the meeting, he thanked students and teachers for supporting the Agency’s projects and initiatives to create zero tolerance among young people for any manifestations of corruption.
