Abu Nasr al-Farabi's Contribution to Islamic civilization» will be held
November 18, 2020 at 16: 00 Almaty time (12.00 Damascus time) an online conference on "Abu Nasr al-Farabi's Contribution to Islamic civilization» will be held. This scientific event will be attended by leading scientists in the field of Islamic philosophy and science, Arabic language and Farabi studies from the University of Damascus (Syrian Arab Republic) and Kazakhstan. The conference is organized as part of cultural and scientific events dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasr al-Farabi, the great thinker, encyclopedist, music theorist and second teacher after Aristotle.
The Rector of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University Mutanov Galimkair Mutanovich, as well as the President of the University of Damascus Dr. Muhammad Yasar Abidin will make welcoming speeches.
Current reports on fundamental issues of the development of modern Farabi studies in Arabic and Kazakh languages will be presented by the Dean of the faculty of Oriental studies of al–Farabi Kazakh national University, PhD, orientalist Paltore Iktiyar Moldatoreuly, Dean of the faculty of Philology and Sciences Of the University of Damascus, PhD Osama Kaddur, representative of the Executive Committee of the city Of Damascus Faisal Surur, Honorary Consul (2011) Syria in Kazakhstan Samir Derek, General Director of the RSE "KazRestavratsiya" Tuyakbaev Kanat Kymyzovich.
During the scientific and practical conference, following issues will be discussed which related to the further development of the al-Farabi Historical and cultural Center, which houses the tomb of the great Eastern philosopher al-Farabi, built with the support of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The opening of a branch of KazNU on the basis of the historical and cultural center of Kazakhstan in Damascus will also be considered.
