"Features of the national Russian hut"
Russian World ethnoclub continues its work at the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. One of the missions implemented in the course of the club's work is to orient foreign students to a positive perception of another culture and the country of the language being studied. International students need to get acquainted with everyday life, culture, education, and life values of the Russian people in informal communication in order to successfully adapt and effectively understand the subtleties of the Russian language. We organize such kind of communication in our meetings. These online meetings have a great potential for the development and training of international students in Russian language classes. Participants of our extracurricular classes become more confident in with their knowledge of Russian, and begin to understand the importance of learning foreign languages. Our meetings allow students to practice speaking and listening to foreign language, discuss various issues, and hear the attitude of other foreign students to certain events. Our extracurricular event with international students is aimed at developing students ' multicultural competencies, enhancing initiative, successful self-development and self-realization as the individual.
The club devoted the next open educational event to the theme "Features of the national Russian hut". For this club meeting, the students themselves prepared a meaningful and colorful presentation about Russian traditional housing. The guys talked about the history of the creation and transformation of the Russian izba for many centuries, where it was built before the hut, the structure and the decoration of the Russian house, the attitude towards the Russian house in the Russian folk culture of the Russian oven, on the male and female halves of the Russian house, about the elements of a Russian log hut of the peasant household. And they told about many different adages, proverbs and signs related to the peculiarities of the Russian hut.
We are pleased to mention that the meetings within the club are a great help in the study of the Russian language for international students. Once again, the conversation took place in a kindly and friendly atmosphere. International students expressed their gratitude to the club for the online meetings where they improved their pronunciation, replenished their vocabulary, gradually overcame the language barrier, and also for the opportunity to get more information about the Russian language and Russian culture.
