International conference in Ankara University

On October 27, 2022, the International scientific conference, devoted to academician M.O. Auezov’s 125th anniversary, the classic of Kazakh literature, a major public and statesman, was held at Ankara University. It was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Turkey and Professor F. Sema Barutju Ozonder, the Head of the Department of Modern Turkish Dialects of the Faculty of Language, History and Geography of Ankara University, Doctor of Philology, Professor. The leading scholars studying M.O. Auezov's creativity, PhD students took part in the conference. Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Sapiyev Yerkebulan Onalbekuly, Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY, Doctor, Associate Professor Bilal Chakydzhi made a welcoming speech.

Thanks to the support of the Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Tuimebayev Zhanseit Kanseituly, the head of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Temirbolat Alua Berikbaykyzy was able to participate in this conference. The topic of her report was "The artistic originality of Mukhtar Auezov's prose". Professor Temirbolat also told about the main directions of the development of Auezov’s studies in Kazakhstan.

Within the conference framework , the presentation of academician Z.K. Kabdolov’s book: "My Auezov", published in Turkish, took place. Its literary editors are professor S.B. Yerzhanova, senior lecturer of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University P.K. Bissenbayev.

The conference ended with an awarding ceremony for the participants. They were awarded Ankara University certificates. Professor F. Sema Barutzhu Ozonder, Professor Alua Temirbolat, Professor Gulzhanat Kurmangalieva, Professor Mustafa Oner, Associate Professor Murat Cheritoglu, Associate Professor Zhazira Otyzbay, poet, translator Asem Yerezhepkyzy were awarded Mukhtar Auezov’s medal.
