International seminar «Scientific Cooperation Perspectives in Education of Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom
On June 1, 2009 the Center for Applied Linguistics and Cross-Cultural Communications of al-Farabi KazNU opened the international scientific-practical seminar «Scientific Cooperation Perspectives in Education of Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom», devoted to the 75th anniversary of KazNU.Initiators and organizer of the seminar are the CAPLCC, Department of International Cooperation, British Council in Kazakhstan and Nottingham University.
In five-day workshop participated representatives of scientific research institutes, British Council, KazNU professors and teachers and other international organizations.Opening ceremony was presented by the speech about British Council achievements in Kazakhstan by Mrs. Lena Milosevic, British Council director in Kazakhstan.Mrs. Kadisha Dairova, director of International cooperation department, from the KazNU side told in details about university activities, it’s successes in scientific researches and international contacts, activity certain directions and effective ways of collaboration were also discussed with British Council and leading British educational higher establishments.As Mrs. Michele Clark marked, KazNU being a classic university legally takes deserving place in international scientific researches, and some Kazakhstani scientific directions even above British high establishments.
«Kazakh National University is a combination of traditions and innovations in higher education area. KazNU creates terms and possibilities for science and ideas development, supports the knowledge cult and aspiring to success». Mrs. Clark expressed a hope that the Kazakh National University will be increasing glorious traditions of higher education leader.Memorandum on collaboration between al-Farabi Kazakh National University and British Council was signed at the international seminar.
