Educational excursion to the sharyn gorge

From February 2 to February 24, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of the Far East is holding a "Winter School" for students of partner universities in Japan on the basis of the academic mobility program. As part of this winter school program on February 19, 2023, students of the Sofia and Tokyo Universities of Foreign Languages went on an educational excursion to the Sharyn Gorge with the teachers and students of the Far East Department, Department of Japanese Studies. The purpose of the winter school program is not only to teach students the history, culture, and language of the people of the Central Asian states, but also to introduce them to the historical and touristic places of the country. Foreign students were particularly interested in seeing the gorge, which exists only in two countries in the world.

The students who left early in the morning visited the Sharyn Gorge for two or three hours, took pictures, had lunch with prepared meals, played games, and returned to Almaty in the afternoon.

The Japanese students felt special about the nature of our country and said that they wanted to visit this place in other seasons. Along the way, he admired the vastness of the land of Kazakhstan and the beauty of its nature.
