"Agora: on the crossroad of historical destinies"

Professors and students of the Department of Philosophy have participated on discussion meeting organized by the Institute of Philosophy, Political Sciences and Religious Studies.

The meeting took place at the cinema club of the faculty professor - Oleg Borecky. The film called "Agora: on the crossroad of historical destinies" (Spain, 2009) is about the tragic history of a famous woman philosopher of Hypatia that was destined to choose between the life position, religious tolerance, courage and defense of the human dignity. After the screening the participants have shared their views and thoughts on the film. It was noted that all the problems are extremely relevant for the modern Kazakhstan where peacefully coexist representatives of different religions.
