During the meeting, an Agreement was signed on the exchange of personnel under the International Consortium University International Formation Mission (hereinafter - UNIFORM). Articles of Agreement provide conditions for the selection and inviting staff to participate in the program UNIFORM for design work.
UNIFORM project aims to research and development of basic technologies which are necessary for the implementation of high-frequency earth observation using nanosatellite technology, as well as cooperation with foreign countries in the field of space technology and the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of space technology.
Currently al-Farabi Kazakh National University is working to implement a unique project to create the Kazakhstan’s first experimental sample of student nanosatellite within the framework of UNIFORM project. This project acts as one of the unique and large-scale research projects involving Japanese partners.
The project is being implemented by PhD students, Master and Bachelor degree students from Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics and Faculty of Physics and Technology under the guidance of al-Farabi Kazakh National University scientists and the University of Tokyo with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
For the moment five undergraduates from Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics and Faculty of Physics and Technology of the university receive special training in the field of nano-satellites in the University of Tokyo in Japan.
Since March 2014, they will continue their studies in the University of Tokyo and in parallel will undergo training at the University of Wakayama international program UNIFORM, funded by the Japanese government.
This project is one of the unique and wide scale scientific projects carried out jointly with Japaneese partners. The expected result of this project – the creation and launch of the first Kazakhstan student nano-satellite and its presentation on the EXPO – 2017
