"TRANSFORMING KNOWLEDGE FOR A FAIR AND SUSTAINABLE FUTURE"
On November 3-4, 2022, with the support of the French National Commission for UNESCO, the UNESCO Headquarters (Paris) hosted an anniversary international UNESCO conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the UNITWIN Program / UNESCO Chair, on the theme "Transforming knowledge for a fair and sustainable future".
The geography of the international conference was very extensive, the participants of the conference were representatives from 117 countries of the world, representing UNESCO centers and chairs, advisers of permanent missions to UNESCO.
al-Farabi Kazakh National University was represented by the head of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development T.A. Bazarbayeva and Associate Professor of this department A. K. Kozhakhan. The theme of the two-day event was "Transforming knowledge for a fair and sustainable future", based on the spirit of scientific, moral, intellectual and academic solidarity. The achievements of the UNITWIN Program as a network of UNESCO Chairs were discussed. The departments have proven useful in creating new teaching initiatives, generating innovation through research, and contributing to the enrichment of existing university programs while promoting cultural diversity.

Within the framework of the plenary session, parallel sessions, seminars and meetings, the possibilities of cooperation were discussed to unite the efforts of departments in the implementation of the tasks of transforming education systems for a qualitative change in all human consciousness in order to prevent a global environmental catastrophe, overcome racial prejudices, discrimination, poverty and other disasters, within the framework of implementation of sustainable development goals.
