New vector of KazNU and ITMO cooperation
Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with the delegation of ITMO National Research University headed by the Head of the Department of International Educational Programs Ekaterina Tulugurova. The parties discussed the prospects of new areas of cooperation and realization of joint scientific and educational projects.
In his welcoming speech the head of the university Zhanseit Tuimebaev noted that Al-Farabi KazNU has a rich experience of scientific and educational interaction with universities of the Russian Federation. National Research University ITMO takes a special place in this series, standing out among the universities in terms of quality, level of management and organization of processes. KazNU is a partner of the National Research University ITMO within the framework of the Eurasian Association of Universities and implements educational programs of double degree, an agreement on the implementation of student exchange program between KazNU and ITMO has been concluded.
"During the meeting with the Rector of National Research University ITMO Vladimir Nikolaevich Vasiliev in April this year, the directions of further cooperation on academic exchange and opening of a joint Center of Competence in the field of information technologies were outlined. This project has great prospects for research and publication of articles in highly rated journals, development of science in the field of IT, as well as creating a base for startup ideas of students. We are always open to interesting ideas and new areas of cooperation", - emphasized the Rector.
In her response, Ekaterina Tulugurova, Head of ITMO International Educational Programs Department, said: "Farabi University is a high quality standard, so we always aim to strengthen our partnership. Especially now, when we are planning to implement the project of a joint IT Competence Center. We are working out the plan and steps of the project realization in detail. There are other areas in which we could cooperate, such as cyber testing ground in the framework of information security, CTF cyber security competitions (we invite your team to participate), as well as ITMO Highpark - a new research, education and innovation center. We are glad that there is mutual interest, and we are confident that our partnership will develop successfully".
The meeting ended with an exchange of views on mutually beneficial cooperation and implementation of joint projects.
