KazNU student wins silver medal at Asian Games

Abiba Abuzhakynova, a 2nd year law student, won a silver medal in judo at the XIX Asian Summer Games in Hangzhou

Abiba Abuzhakynova performed in the weight category up to 48 kilograms and defeated her opponent.

On the first day of the Asian Games, our judokas brought two medals to the national team's piggy bank. One of them Abiba Abuzhakynova, the other Magzhan Shamshadin became a bronze medalist in the weight category up to 60 kg.

Abiba Abuzhakynova is a talented athlete, bronze medalist at the 2022 World Judo Championships in Tashkent, winner of the Grand Slam tournament held in Dubai.

In total, Kazakhstan has 525 athletes who will participate in 30 sports, including 27 Olympic disciplines.

Recall, the Asian Games-2023 started on September 23 and will last until October 8. Medals will be awarded in 40 sports. In nine of them, the winners will receive licenses to participate in the Olympic Games-2024 in Paris.
