KazNU expands cooperation with Henan University

      Representatives of Henan University in China paid a working visit to Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and familiarized themselves with the scientific infrastructure of the institution of higher education.

The delegation headed by the chairman of the Council of Henan University Keping Lu held a meeting with the leadership of KazNU and discussed issues on further development of partnership. 

During the meeting the member of the Manageement Board - Vice-Rector for scientce and innovation of the university Zhamila Aitzhanova noted that the cooperation of KazNU with Chinese universities is developing intensively.

"Al-Farabi KazNU closely cooperates with more than 50 universities in China. Today 401 Chinese students study at the university. We also have a successful Department of Chinese Studies and Confucius Institute. Currently, work has begun on opening a branch of the Northwest Polytechnic University of China on the basis of KazNU. We are ready to increase cooperation with universities of neighboring countries in the field of science and education," - said the vice-rector.

For his part, Mr. Keping Lu introduced Henan University and voiced a series of suggestions.  "Henan University was founded in 1912. More than 50 thousand students study at the institution and more than five thousand teachers teach. During our visit to Kazakh National University, we noticed that the educational programs and research activities of both universities are very similar. For example, you have the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management and the Center for Remote Sensing of the Earth. Our university also has such centers. In the future it will be possible to work together in this direction. At the same time, we will conduct a number of works on the development of the Confucius Institute and Chinese language in KazNU", - said Caping Lu.

  During the meeting, the parties agreed to systematically implement these initiatives and exchanged commemorative gifts.
