Training on the course "rational use of water resources"

Senior Lecturers of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology Ph.D. Musina A.K., Zhanabaeva Zh.A. took part in the training of trainers for the training course “Rational Use of Water Resources” organized by the USAID regional project on water resources and the environment, which took place on September 20-22, 2023.

The purpose of the training was to strengthen the educational potential of universities providing training in the field of water, food and ecosystem resources and to introduce the training course developed by the USAID regional project on water resources and environment for masters in the study of rational use of water resources and discuss it with teachers of higher education institutions. As part of the training, global and regional experience on issues of rational use of water resources was presented, as well as practical exercises on the issues of sustainable development of water resources and water management systems in conditions of high anthropogenic load on water bodies.

As a result of the training, senior lecturers of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology received useful knowledge on water resource management based on their effective and rational use and economic and environmental aspects. As part of the implementation of sustainable development goals, it has been customary to adapt to local conditions and use the curriculum or educational materials on the rational use of water resources for the preparation of masters. All training participants were also awarded a certificate.
