Rector of KazNU at the University of Tsukuba

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev participated in the meeting of the Board of Directors of Tsukuba University and made a report.

 

The event was attended by Nagata Kesuke, President of the University of Tsukuba, and Jun Ikeda, Vice President, business partners of the university, scholars and professors. 

During the meeting, Nagata Kesuke made a speech, informed about the achievements of the University of Tsukuba in the field of education and science, and talked about future plans.

In turn, Zhanseit Tuimebaev familiarized the participants with the scientific infrastructure of Al-Farabi KazNU and noted the expansion of cooperation with Japanese higher education institutions.

"Currently, 25 thousand students are studying at Al-Farabi KazNU. About 2.5 thousand of them are foreign students from 50 countries of the world. Next year will mark the 90th anniversary of the founding of our university. Our educational institution has been given the status of a research university. Branches of KazNU were opened in Istanbul (Turkey) and Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan). Since last year in the educational institution operates a branch of the National Nuclear Research University MEPhI of Russia. Currently on the basis of KazNU the work on opening a branch of the North-West Polytechnic University of China is underway. The university develops international relations. KazNU cooperates with 28 universities in Japan, jointly work within the framework of scientific and educational programs, including academic mobility. Thus, in 2022-2023, 56 students of KazNU underwent internship in special universities of Japan. Also 15 teachers took part in scientific conferences for the purpose of professional development.  Currently, 19 students of the University of Tsukuba are studying at the university", - said the rector.

Also in his speech, the rector noted that KazNU pays great attention to science and is working on the direction of transformation of the university into a research university. In conclusion, Zhanseit Tuimebaev noted that in the future KazNU will continue to expand cooperation with universities and scientific institutes of Japan.
