"Russian-English-Kazakh dictionary of psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics terms" was published

On September 26, 2023, the Department of Turkic Studies and Linguistic Theory of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized a round table to discuss the "Russian-English-Kazakh study dictionary of psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics terms" published by the "Kazakh University" publishing house. The authors of the dictionary are Ph.D., associate professor J.K. Ibraeva (main editor), senior lecturer, PhD student G.S. Nabieva, senior lecturer, PhD student K. Zhaksylykovyna, PhD, professor, and head of the department of biophysics, biomedicine, and neurosciences, A.M. Kustubaeva.

The trilingual study dictionary consists of the terminological apparatus of psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics, the integrative directions of modern language education, which are adjacent to the research subject.

This is the first trilingual dictionary compiled in the fields of psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics. There are no definitions in the dictionary. The main goal of the authors was to collect and systematize the terms of these scientific directions, as well as concepts related to the processes of learning first, second, and foreign languages, problems of bilingualism, and the connection between language, speech, and brain work.

The dictionary is for students, masters, and doctoral students of higher educational institutions. Learning this terminology is very important for students in philological faculties, so the dictionary is included in basic and elective courses such as "Theory of Psycholinguistics", "Psycho-Neurolinguistics", "Ontolinguistics", "Problems of First and Second Language Learning" and "Speech Communication" In addition, the vocabulary is for students majoring in  biomedicine, neuroscience, "psycholog, "Cognitive psychology", "speech therapy", "fundamentals of cognitive neuroscience", "current problems of biomedicine," and others. It will also be useful for preparation for basic and elective subjects.

The trilingual study dictionary introduces students, masters, doctoral students, and teacher-researchers to the terminological system of the mentioned courses, facilitates the reading of special literature in the Kazakh and English languages, and helps to write diploma theses, master's theses, and PhD theses.

During the round table, teachers and young scientists exchanged opinions, shared ideas, and made valuable suggestions.
