Rector participated in the international conference dedicated to Kemel Tokayev
Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev took part in the international scientific-practical conference "Kazak detective genre darabozi", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the outstanding writer, journalist, veteran of the Great Patriotic War Kemel Tokayev.
The event organized by the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan was attended by the Minister of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva, Secretary General of the international organization TURKSOY Sultan Rayev, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan Mereke Kulkenov, member of the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan Minhojiddin Hojimatov, Chairman of the Union of Writers of Kyrgyzstan Nurlan Kalybekov, a famous writer of detective genre Dmitry Shestakov, intellectuals, writers and poets.
During the conference the congratulatory letter of the Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev was read out by the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva. It said: "Kemel Tokayev laid the foundations of the detective genre and left his mark in Kazakh literature. With his works full of adventures the writer urged the reader not to do evil, but to do good. At the same time, he exalted such values as honesty, kindness and compassion. There is no doubt that knowledge-rich works of the writer will be kept in the Golden Fund of Kazakh literature".
The Secretary General of the international organization TURKSOY Sultan Rayev made a speech at the meeting and emphasized the depth of the outstanding writer's work.
"Reading any work of Kemel Tokayev, one can see the reality of that time - justice. That is, I believe that the writer's works will never lose their relevance. Already now his works have been widely disseminated in the Turkic world and have found their readers", - said Sultan Rayev.
In turn, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev dwelled on the events organized at the University within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the writer.
"We are very proud that Kemel Tokayev is an alumnus of our university. I think that the work of today's conference will be continued with fruitful research and in-depth analysis. Our goal is to explore Kemel Tokayev's creative heritage in a new way.
On September 22 in Turkey we held an international conference "Kemel Tokayev - public figure, outstanding writer, famous journalist". In Istanbul, the book of the Head of State Kasym-Jomart Kemel Tokayev "Word about his father", translated into Turkish, was presented. As part of the anniversary, we plan to open an auditorium named after Kemel Tokayev at the Faculty of Journalism, where the writer himself studied and present a new book," the rector said.
Kazakh writers and foreign guests spoke at the event, who noted the great contribution and achievements of Kemel Tokayev in the field of literature and journalism.
