Lecture courses on realization of Sustainable Development Goals started in KazNU

The course of lectures "Water Resources Management Problems in Central Asian Countries" was held at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science. An expert on water resources research of Narkhoz University Zhaniya Khaibullina was invited as a speaker.

Dean of the Faculty Bekzhan Meirbayev opened the event and told about the problems of water resources use in the country. "Today the issue of water supply is very relevant for Central Asia, including our country. Water deficit is felt in some regions of Kazakhstan. Also, the development of national economy, agriculture and industrial complex largely depends on water resources of the country", - said the dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of KazNU, noting that the issue of water use at industrial enterprises and in the housing and communal sphere should become one of the most important tasks.

During the informative lecture speaker Zhaniya Khaibullina gave detailed explanations and analysis of the use of water resources of the country, compliance with sanitary norms. She also gave examples related to problems and preservation of ecosystems, international practice of climate risk regulation and other topical issues of water security.

Students and teachers who participated in the event shared their opinions on the issue and made a number of suggestions.

At the end of the lecture, a lot of information was given about access to water, sanitation and hygiene, finding sources of clean water or adopting modern treatment technologies, floods and water disasters, and e-materials were provided to make these topics widely known. The event was additionally conducted through a live broadcast on Instagram.
