On October 18, 2023, the 3rd-year PhD students of the Department of Turkology and Language Theory of the Philological Faculty of al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a charity event. The PhD students decided to help our sister Kundiz, a single mother with four children and poor health who lives in Madeniyet district. The PhD students bought groceries at the grocery store and visited Kundiz at her home. In addition to financial assistance, emotional support plays an important role for a person, so the PhD students talked to Sister Kundyz, asked her about health and living conditions. They tried to cheer her up and said warm wishes.
Everyone's fate is different. A person can meet various challenges during his/her life. We should know that not only one man can have face such difficulties but the whole society. Helping people who really have difficulties is a good deed. First of all, a good deed can play a huge role for our spiritual world because people who do a lot of good things encourage others do the same in the future. Kazakh people have one saying that a good deed can give a forgiveness for our sins and protect us from misfortunes. The more good deeds we do, the more examples of humanity our younger generation will have. Due to humanity our generation will be well-bred and more compassionate.
It should be noted that Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, guided by the concepts of "Dwellers of the virtuous city" and "Aynalandy nurlandyr", encourages students from the first year of bachelor's degree to take part in charity events. In addition, our university has a student organization called "Komek", which is always ready to give a helping hand. Besides the good education of students, our university contributes to the development of human ethics, humanity, kindness, which proves that our Alma mater is a real example of a good educational institution.
