Within the framework of the 4th goal ("Quality education") Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Evidence-based Medicine Iskakova F.A. shared her impressions about the scientific internship at Duquesne University (USA) under the Bolashak program "500 scientists": My name is Farida Arkenovna Iskakova, and I am an Acting Associate Professor of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Evidence-based Medicine Department of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. I can say, "Dreams come true." In the fall semester of 2023-2024, I am on a scientific internship at Duquesne University, USA, on the program Bolashak "500 scientists. There was a period of application, testing, and processing, and finally, I am at Duquesne University. Duquesne University is a private Catholic university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with over 10,000 students in 10 schools.Interestingly, many Duquesne students are in master's and doctoral programs of study. In the Department of Health Administration and Public Health, headed by Associate Professor Faina Linkov, department chair, my colleague Araylym Beisbekova from Asfendiarov Kazakh National Medical University, and I are taking two modern courses in Public Administration: Managerial Epidemiology and Health Services Research and Statistics. In parallel, we attend all lectures and classes taught at the department and regional conferences organized by the university. We took an adaptive course for new faculty, interns, masters, and doctoral students, where we met the Dean of the John G. Rangos Sr. School of Health Sciences, Professor Dr. Fevzi Akinci, and Faculty Staff. We met and spoke with the Director of Faculty Development and Teaching Excellence at Duquesne University, Steven Hansen at Duquesne University. Everywhere, we were welcomed and eager to ease into Duquesne University life. I expect to get a lot out of the internship in preparing research projects and writing scholarly articles on Public Health and Administration.
