Traditional Ayagoz Regional Olympiad in Physics and Mathematics named after Zhenis Omirbekuly

On October 13, 2023, the "Traditional Ayagoz District Olympiad in Physics and Mathematics named after Zhenis Omirbekuly" was held for the 5th time at the school of the OSH of the village of Menayakuly in the village of Barshatas of the Ayagoz district of the Abai region.

The late Zhenis Umirbekovich is a native of the Shubartau region, a graduate of this school, candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, associate professor, graduate of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, a scientist-teacher who led a conscious life at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 2016, a laboratory room named after Zh. Omirbekuly was opened at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in 2019 a mathematics room was opened at the O. Menayakuly school.

This event is an integral part of the Republican Olympiad of students and schoolchildren in physics named after Zh. Omirbekuly, which has been held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University since 2009

The wards of Zhenis Omirbekovich, who initiated the Republican Olympiad, are Candidate of Technical Sciences, Vice-President of the National State Scientific and Technical Expert Center, Associate Professor Rustem Manatbayev, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of KazNU, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Mukhtar Isatayev and Associate Professor of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of KazNU, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Zhanibek Baitulenov The Olympiad was organized by the school staff of the O. Menayakuly GESS and sponsored by the graduate of the O. Menayakuly GESS, Sayat Omirbekov, has been held since 2017 in the Chubartau district, the birthplace of the great teacher.

In 2018, the Physics and Technology and Mechanics and Mathematics Faculties of KazNU signed a memorandum of partnership with the OSH named after O. Menayakuly and continue to cooperate to this day. During this time, this Olympiad has received recognition for its high level and fairness. Olympiad reports are prepared by the Treasury and conducted under the direct supervision of scientists and teachers. Also, within the framework of the Memorandum, teachers give lectures to teachers of physics and mathematics of schools in our district and give students a "Certificate of advanced training".

The best at the district Olympiad receive an invitation to the Republican Olympiad named after Zh. Omirbekuly. The Olympiad is held among students of grades 9, 10, 11.

The opening ceremony of the Olympiad began with the wishes of labor veterans, rural elders, teachers and continued with a concert of schoolchildren. The best schoolchildren of the Ayagoz district took part in the traditional Olympiad, where the following results were demonstrated :

The winners were awarded special diplomas of KazNU on behalf of the GESS O. Menayakuly school, distinguished students were awarded letters of thanks.

9 students who took 3rd place received a cash prize of 20,000 tenge, 6 students who took 2nd place received a cash prize of 30,000 tenge, 3 students who took 1st place received a cash prize of 60,000 tenge.

The teachers of 3 students who took 1st place were awarded letters of thanks and gifts of 20,000 tenge.

Teachers of physics and mathematics, who studied with teachers of KazNU, were awarded a "Certificate of advanced training".

This event was organized at a high level by the staff of the O. Menayakuly GESS school headed by Gulnur Sikhymbaeva.

The school's management also presented a letter of thanks to the organizers of the Olympiad.
