Annoucement

 

Dear colleagues, students and guests!

 

The Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University invites you to take part in the thematic week dedicated to the 125th anniversary of T. Zhurgenov, the outstanding statesman and public figure which will be held from December 4 to 8, 2023.

 

The following events are planned during the Week:

 

1. Excursion to the Museum of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Temirbek Zhurgenov "In the footsteps of T. Zhurgenov"

Date: December 4, 2023

Time of the event: 10.00-13.00

Address: 127 Panfilov str., Almaty

 

Purpose and objectives:

- to show  students the exhibits of the museum, manuscripts, books, documentary materials related to the life and work of the outstanding statesman and public figure Temirbek Zhurgenov;

- to introduce  students to interesting facts from the life of T. Zhurgenov;

- to instill   patriotism, respect for the culture and literature of their country in the young generation;

-   to tell students about the history of the Temirbek Zhurgenov  and  show them around Kazakh National Academy of Arts;

 

2. Lectures on jurgenology

Lecturers: Chairman of the Temirbek Zhurgenov Public Foundation, Honorary Citizen of the city of Kyzylorda, Holder of the Order of "Kurmet" Ansatov Sapen Abdykadyrovich; writer, publicist, Candidate of Historical Sciences Koishybaev Beibit Orynbekovich; member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, Cultural Worker, Candidate of Philological Sciences, jurgen scholar Imangaliev Bauyrzhan Sabitovich

Purpose and objectives:

- to introduce students to  research works in the field of jurgenology;

-  to share the information  about the place and significance of the works of T. Zhurgenov, a prominent statesman and public figure in publicistic and domestic literary studies,

 

3. Viewing and discussion of a documentary about T. Zhurgenov

Purpose and objectives:

- to acquaint students with T.K. Zhurgenov;

- to determine  the role of T.K. Zhurgenov in the opening of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

 

4. International scientific and practical conference "The SPIRITUAL HERITAGE of T. ZHURGENOV AND THE GOALS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN EDUCATION", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the 125th anniversary of the prominent statesman and public figure, one of the founders of this educational institution Temirbek Zhurgenov

Purpose and objectives of the conference:

- to polularize  the life and spiritual heritage of T. Zhurgenov,  the statesman, to  study  his contribution to the development of science, education, culture and art of Central Asia and Kazakhstan;

-  to tell about T. Zhurgenov and the Higher School of Kazakhstan: history and lessons;

- to identify the relationship and integration of the spheres of culture, education, media communications.

5. Award ceremony of the winners of the essay contest "Temirbek Zhurgenov – an outstanding personality of the Turkic world"

-  to sum up the results of the "ZHURGENOV WEEK" by the heads of universities and faculties.

- to award  guests, undergraduates and students who became winners within the framework of the "ZHURGENOV’S WEEK"
