A solemn event dedicated to the Day of the Republic took place in KazNU

The Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi hosted a solemn event dedicated to the National Holiday of the Republic Day.

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebaev, intellectuals, scientists, teachers and young people of the university took part in the festive evening.

Rector of the university Zhanseit Tuimebaev opened the event, congratulating the staff of the university with a significant holiday.

"From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you on the national holiday - Republic Day! Last year the Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev gave this date a national status. 33 years ago, on October 25, the "Declaration of Sovereignty" was adopted by the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR. This is a historical document that became a prerequisite for the Independence of Kazakhstan", - said the rector.

In his welcoming speech the head of KazNU noted: "Next year our university will celebrate its 90th anniversary. With the support of the Head of State, the university opened its branches in Istanbul and Bishkek. National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI" works in KazNU. More recently, a branch of the Northwestern Polytechnic University of the People's Republic of China was opened. About 25 thousand students are studying in KazNU, about 2.5 thousand of them are foreign students from 50 countries of the world. Our goal is education of educated, fair, hardworking youth of New Kazakhstan, training of competitive specialists serving the future of the country", - he noted.

During the event, the Decree of the President of the country Kasym-Jomart Tokayev head of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Administrative and Constitutional Law Karlygash Useinova was awarded the Gold Medal "Birlik", Chairman of the trade union "Parasat" Talgat Mekebayev - breastplate "Zhomart zhan", the letter of thanks of the Head of State was awarded to the winner of the International Literary Award "Alash" Kanseit Abdesuly.

At the festive evening, the teachers were presented with Letters of Gratitude from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, Letters of Honor and Letters of Gratitude from the Rector Zhanseit Tuimebaev. Also, the best teachers and staff of the university were awarded the medal "Eren eenbegi ushin".

Торжественное собрание продолжилось концертной программой. Студенты вуза исполнили попурри из народных песен «Саржайлау», «Гакку», «Отан», подарили зрителям хорошее настроение и яркие впечатления. В завершении концертной программы все участники вместе со зрителями спели песню «Я люблю тебя, Казахстан!».
