The Future of Kazakhstan in My Dreams

From October 18 to October 28, 2023, the Department of Economics of the Higher School of Economics and Business held a republican essay competition dedicated to Republic Day, entitled “The Future of Kazakhstan in My Dreams” among schoolchildren in grades 8-11. The competition is being held for the third year in a row.

The purpose of the competition is to reveal the creative abilities of students, select and support talented and gifted schoolchildren; promoting the formation of the intellectual potential of young people; development of interest in scientific research; strengthening academic and friendship relationships.

A total of 13 works were received from 5 regions of Kazakhstan (Aktobe region, Abay region, Kostanay region, Pavlodar region, North Kazakhstan region). Works were accepted in three languages, 54% of works were written in Kazakh, 31% in English, 15% in Russian.

A competition commission was created from among the teachers of the Department of Economics, which selected the best works according to the following criteria: originality, personal opinion, ability to logically construct sentences, literacy.

On behalf of KazNU, the winners were awarded the following prizes. A thermos with the KazNU logo and a diploma for 1st place, a T-shirt with the KazNU logo and a diploma for 2nd place, a cap with the KazNU logo and a diploma for 3rd place. The commission members determined one winner who took 1st place, two 2nd place and three 3rd place.

On November 3, the competition winners were awarded online. The winners were presented with diplomas by the Head of the Department of Economics, Galiya Rakhmetovna Dauliyeva.

Essay competition results:

1st place – Tretyakova Nelly Nurbolatovna, 9th grade student of secondary school No. 1 named after N.G. Chernyshevsky in Semey. The essay is presented in Russian.

2nd place – Gallemova Zhannel Muratovna, 11th grade student of secondary school No. 19 in Aktobe. The essay is presented in Kazakh.

2nd place – Churyak Polina Sergeevna, 10th grade student of secondary school No. 7 in Petropavlovsk. The essay is presented in Russian.

3rd place – Aueskhanova Nargiz Nurbekovna, 10th grade student of secondary school No. 19 in Aktobe. The essay is presented in English.

3rd place – Islambek Akerke Oralkyzy, 9th grade student of the specialized boarding school-gymnasium named after Ybyray Altynsarin in Kostanay. The essay is presented in Kazakh.

3rd place – Koskulakova Nuraiym, 8th grade student of secondary school No. 19 in Aktobe. The essay is presented in Kazakh.

All competition participants also received participation certificates.
