Rector met with scientists from St. Petersburg University

Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev held negotiations in a narrow structure with representatives of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University and academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, specially arrived to participate in the I International Scientific Conference on the theme "A new way of decarbonization of the economy (KZGT-2023)".

The delegation included: Robert Nigmatulin, Scientific Director of the Institute of Oceanography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Head of the Laboratory "Interdisciplinary Research and Education on Technological and Economic Issues of Energy Transition (CIRETEC-GT)", Igor Ilyin, Head of the Laboratory of the National Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Yuri Shcherbanin, and others Igor Ilyin, Head of the Laboratory of the National Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Scherbanin, and others.

The parties comprehensively discussed the current state and prospects of development of relations between the two universities, paying special attention to strengthening partnership, deepening ties in the field of education and science.

Welcoming the guests of honor, Zhanseit Tuimebaev noted that close ties between KazNU and St. Petersburg Polytechnic University became the basis for deepening cooperation between the two universities.

In turn, Igor Ilyin thanked the management and staff of KazNU for the organization of the conference, which discussed topical issues in the field of economics and energy, and noted the need for further expansion of cooperation between universities of Kazakhstan and Russia.

At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed upcoming projects and joint initiatives in the field of science and education.
