Works of KazNU photographers are included in the photo encyclopedia

In Almaty during the XI International Book and Printing Fair "Along the Great Silk Road - 2023" presentation of the photo encyclopedia "Kazakh photo chroniclers": history, chronicle, art" took place.

The event was organized by the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the National State Book Chamber, the public association "Photo Art" and the publishing house "Daryn".

The goal is to draw public attention to the state interests, national heritage through the work of photographers, as well as comprehensive promotion of the history of national photography.

The event was attended by famous connoisseurs of photography, heads of associations, teachers and students of KazNU.

The book is published by the publishing house "Daryn" in the amount of 407 pages with the circulation of 500 copies. It contains works of 18 well-known photographers in our country. In particular: Shangerey Bokeyev, Kaligumar Kabdeshuly, Sabyrzhan Kusainov, Esimkhan Orynbaev, Asylkhan Zhusuptegi, Farhad Kabdykayirov, Serik Mukushuly, Ongarbek Alkharov, Zhenis Yskabai, Tleubek Shayakhmet, Erlan Omarov, Duman Kurmangaliyev, Bauyrzhan Zhuasbaev, Maksat Shagyrbai, Aigerim Begimbet, Doszhan Balabekuly and Meirbek Tazhkuranov. Also in the photo encyclopedia are presented the works of the photographer of KazNU, a member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, holder of the honorary title "UNESCO Photographer", chief specialist of the Department of Information and Communications Marat Zhunisbekov.

The compilers of the book are Kazakhstani experts on photo art headed by the chairman of the Public Association "Photo Art" Asylkhan Abdraimovich, senior lecturer of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Dauren Maksutkhanovich. The editors of the photo encyclopedia were Kaligumar Kabdeshovich, a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR and the International Union of Journalists, professional photographer, a figure of Kazakh journalism, a laureate of the International Prize named after Zhambyl, a professional photojournalist. Professional photojournalist Nurmanbet Kizatuly, member of the Eurasian and Kazakhstan Unions of Designers, artist-designer Beisen Serikbai. The book cover design was developed by Ulbosyn Zharylkasynova, 3rd year student of the specialty "Design" of the Department of Publishing and Editorial and Design Art of the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

At the end of the event the director of the National State Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan Adil Koitanov awarded a number of specialists in the field of photography.
