SDG 10. “INTERNET: IMPACT OF SOCIAL NETWORKS ON STUDENTS”

On November 24, 2023,  the teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages, together with the  1st year students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, held an event on the topic “Internet: the influence of social networks on students” within the frameworks of the Sustainable Development Goals.

During the debates,  the students were divided into two groups and made the  presentations about  the positive and negative sides of the Internet and social media. At the end of the presentation,  the interesting videos were shown. Students actively participated in the discussion, expressing their thoughts on social networks. International students also joined the event via Zoom: Nazira Baltabaeva, the 2nd year student at Sakarya University in Turkey and the 3rd year student at Dunarea de Jos University in Galati, Romania. They shared valuable information about how they entered a foreign university and how the Internet was useful in this regard.  The students asked their questions and received clear answers. The  current issues within the Internet topic were discussed.

At the end of the event,  the students who actively participated in the discussion were awarded certificates of gratitude and gifts.
