ALLIANCE OF DEANS OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCHOOLS
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences, was the first among Kazakh universities to become a Member of the Alliance of Deans of Environmental Schools.
November 27, 2023 Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences, Associate Professor Aliya Aktymbaeva took part in the Third Forum of Deans of Environmental Schools, organized by Tongji University (China). Sustainable development must be based on sound knowledge and sound science, and higher education and research institutions are indispensable in this process. In 2018, Tongji University initiated the Green School Deans Alliance and launched the Green School Deans Forum with the goal of establishing a collaborative research network that could provide scientific and policy guidance for green development, and share knowledge, data and analysis through the South-South Cooperation Mechanism. Since the inception of the Deans' Alliance for the Environment, 63 universities from 34 countries have collaborated through fruitful exchanges and collaborations.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Third Green School Deans' Forum focused on resource recycling and low-carbon development with the goal of sharing scientific advances and ideas, and building partnerships for the Green Belt and Road.
