Professors play a pivotal role in shaping the intellectual and professional development of their students, fostering critical thinking, and advancing knowledge within their disciplines. Such is our professor Zhangara Dadebayev who will turn  75 years in Novenber. Zhangara Dadebayevych is both a research and teaching professor. He is the author of several course books and manuals for students of higher educational institutions. The scientist wrote about Abai studies, Kazakh literature, Kazakh oratory art. In this article we focus on his highly valuable scientific work devoted to Translation Studies titled “Literary Comparative Studies and Literary Translation”. In this work the professor tells about literary comparison, history of its origin, scientists who studied it, works written by them, interrelation of comparison with other sciences. The second chapter entitled "The mastery of artistic translation" examines the translations of the great poet Abai Kunanbayuly, the Goethe-Lermontov-Abai harmony, emphasizes the quality of translation of the poet's poems into Russian. The author gives a thorough analysis of the translation variants made by G. Belger, M. Dudin, Y. Neiman, Y. Kuznetsov, E. Kurdakov and other translators and presents his evaluation of their quality, trying to prove by examples which translation is the best in his opinion. . In Chapter 3, "Literary Translation and Literary Creativity," the author discusses the literary works of Democritus, Plato, Aristotle, and Cicero. He examines the concepts of literary creativity and literary translation in general and emphasizes that the act of translation is distinct from oratory or literary creativity. The fifth chapter of the guidebook focuses on the translation work of master translator and translation theorist M. Auezov.  Pr. Dadebayev  focuses on  Auezov's scholarly articles such as "Some theoretical problems of Literary Translation," "On the Kazakh translation of E. Onegin," "On the translation of Revizor," and "The Eternal Poet - Shota Rustaveli."

It is our firm opinion that the manual is a valuable study material for students majoring in the specialty “Translation studies”. We wish Pr. Zhangara Dadebayev strong health and successful scientific-research activities!
