Prevention and anti-epidemic measures for measles infection among students

Currently, there is an unfavorable epidemiological situation for measles in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since the beginning of 2023, 11,057 cases of measles have been registered in the republic, of which more than 83% are children under 14 years of age (9,233 cases).

In 70% (7,786 cases), unvaccinated children fell ill, including due to refusal of vaccination – 4,575, medical contraindications – 1,431, failure to reach the vaccination age – 1,687, other reasons – 93, in 17% (1,832 cases), persons with unknown vaccination status fell ill.

In order to prevent the further spread of measles among the population of the Republic of Kazakhstan and to stabilize the epidemiological situation in the country, Resolution No. 7 of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated November 1, 2023 "On carrying out sanitary and anti-epidemic and sanitary preventive measures against measles" was issued.
