As part of the Sustainable Development Initiative, on December 13, 2023, Senior lecturer of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law, PhD Yerezhepkyzy Roza organized a scientific seminar with 3rd year students of the Law Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on the topic "Air pollution and climate change". The speaker invited the doctoral student Umbetbaeva Zhuldyz Baymuratovna, who is engaged in studying the international aspects of this topic, to the scientific seminar. The scientific seminar addressed the issues of the evolution of international legal regulation of atmospheric air from long-range transboundary pollution, related to the formation of international judicial practice. The issues of climate change, which is an extraordinary global problem that transcends national borders, were raised. This event is dedicated to Sustainable Development Goal No. 13 "Combating climate change". During the seminar, participants discussed what climate change is, the effects of climate change, and initiatives to combat climate change. This scientific workshop is an important step in the efforts to achieve sustainable development through climate initiatives, aiming to accelerate the adoption of measures to combat climate change. Climate change cannot be stopped, but its negative effects can be mitigated.
