“Incorporating media literacy into Language teaching and learning to advance students”
Within the framework of the 15th International Asian Conference on Education in Tokyo, al-Farabi Kazakh National University professors held a series of master classes, sharing their experience with scientists and practitioners from 65 countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Kazakhstan was represented by 14 participants, including three professors from al-Farabi University. The master class on “Incorporating media literacy into Language teaching and learning to advance students” Critical Communication' (lecturers Yelubayeva Perizat and Kudyarova Sholpan) was devoted to the practice of enhancing students’ critical communication by integrating media literacy models into language teaching and learning. Lecturer Marlan Negizbayeva discussed the topic of migration and tolerance among the younger generation by using the example of al-Farabi students. The master classes were fruitful, arousing the interest of foreign scientists in the practice, teaching methods, and learning technologies at KazNU.
