Winter school with the participation of domestic and foreign students

        The Turksoy Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University from January 22 to February 2, 2024, conducts an online winter school: "From Turkestan to Anatolia: the continuity of civilizations." The winter school will be attended by students and undergraduates of Istanbul University, Ege University, Marmara University, Istanbul Arel University.

      The purpose of the winter school is to study the common values of the Turkic people, to familiarize students with the differences and similarities in many other aspects, about the common history, language, and worldview of the Turkic people.

      This event is also a continuation of the joint research work of Kazakhstan and Turkey in the field of education and science. 17 international students and undergraduates will take part in the winter school. Lectures are held in Kazakh and Turkish by teachers of the Turksoy department on the following topics: "The role of Turkey in Central Asia", "Central Asian Turks and their contribution to Turkish Turkology", "Spiritual values in the poetry of Khoja Ahmet Yassawi and Yunus Emre", "Description of historical Turkish texts in the rare Books section of the KazNU Library. Al-Farabi", "Colonization of Kazakhstan by Russia and reform movements" and other relevant topics. At the end of the course, students and teachers will receive a certificate.
