A chemical research and production center was launched in KazNU

Within the framework of the 90th anniversary of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi on the basis of the university opened a research and production center of Chemical Coating innovations for obtaining chemical coatings for various purposes and applications.

Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education of RK Darhan Ahmed-Zaki, Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebaev, doctors of sciences, faculty and young scientists took part in the opening ceremony of the center.

This research and production center is organized with the financial support of the Science Foundation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Here scientists produce classical and specific coatings for the needs of machine building, instrument making, as well as for the souvenir and jewelry industry.
The guests toured the production and familiarized themselves with the material and technical base.
Vice-Minister Darhan Ahmed-Zaki noted that the opening of such production facilities is important for the development of national science and wished success in the work of scientists.

In turn, the rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev emphasized: "Galvanic coatings, produced on the basis of KazNU, extend the life of products. That is, it is beneficial to both the manufacturer and the consumer. This is a new and effective way of protection against rust. Also the new center will train specialists technologists and operators of electrochemical production".

"In Kazakhstan the production of electrochemical coatings is not in the best condition at the moment. There are practically no such research and production centers. Electrochemical coatings are the most convenient and practical in terms of properties and cost. Our center currently has a shop with zinc plating, nickel plating and copper plating lines. The total capacity of these lines allows us to get about several tens of thousands of square meters of coating per year", - said Alina Galieva, the head of the research and production center of Chemical Coating Innovations, presenting the new project to the participants of the event.  In addition, in her speech Alina Galieva noted that the center further plans to develop technologies for obtaining and applying coatings that protect against various kinds of aggressive environments.

The project realization is based on the real demand of the industrial sector. Machine-building plant for the production of railway automatics JV Kazelectroprivod LLP ordered technologies and services for obtaining protective coatings applied in accordance with international standards. The Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi previously developed a whole set of electrochemical technologies, of which the "Technology for obtaining electrolytic coatings for various purposes" was proposed for commercialization.
